Start low, go slow — and actually mean it
The oldest advice in cannabis is still the most ignored.
Tolerance resets faster than people expect, edibles land later than people expect, and 'I don't feel anything yet' has preceded most bad experiences in cannabis history. A practical framework: pick your dose before you start, based on your goal — not on how you feel mid-session. For new products, cut your usual dose in half for the first session and treat it as data-gathering.
You lose nothing by under-dosing once; the product will still be there tomorrow. And if your goal is functional — focus, creativity, connection — remember that the effective dose is usually lower than the recreational one.
